Mark you calendars, PDAs, or hands...the annual campout is coming up on August 1st through 3rd!
Isn't it nice to think about carefree, warm, sunny days on the river about now? Decadent camping breakfasts, fishing, swimming, good friends, good tunes, a good fire...
The campout will be out on the river again this year, at a beautiful spot just south of Trempealeau. Here's a map. A short boat ride (only under well lit conditions) will get you to the camp site. After really concentrating on that stretch of river for a year, I'm starting to get a feel for where the fish like to bite.
I'll have the Bouy Rammer II unlike the original Bouy Rammer, from which you are currently drinking your Diet Coke. I also hear that Jerry may bring his Pontoon! Should be fun all around.
We'll bring the screen house, the boom box, the luggable loo, and assorted refreshments. It is a little necessary to plan ahead, since we need to barge everything in. Be sure to bring rain gear, as we'll be somewhat away from any kind of real shelter.
I'll try to keep this site updated as the date approaches. Hopefully, this time, EVERYONE will be able to make it. What a blast...
